A cloud-based software package for veterinary clinic management.
Vetbuddy is a comprehensive and fully integrated cloud-based software package for veterinary clinic management. It contains all the functionalities required by any veterinary clinic or hospital anywhere in the world.
Vetbuddy has been in use by the veterinary clinic for a long time. Due to this, there have been gradual improvisations in UI and user flows depending on the user requirements. As Vetbuddy is an admin portal, it involves various user roles thus, the re-design has created a visual dump overall leading to a lot of inconsistencies.
We initially tried to understand the platform from the technical team that handles Vetbuddy. Followed by interacting with the users of different roles like receptionist, surgeon, accounts manager, etc, to dig deep into their perspective, what service they intend to deliver, and the possible improvement they expect with the new and improved interface.
From the observation we were able to identify some key pain points that these users face like:
“We not aware of various features that vetbuddy provides since it is a very vast platform and we have eastablished few of our own pattern for work.”
“Sometimes we use the platform's features for a part of the task, and for the other part, we follow the traditional methods of clinic management.”
With these insights in place, the Phionike team then decided to understand the screen-flows for each user role.
This methodology helped the team to understand the work process of each user. It also helped us in ideating towards optimizing the interface to provide a better experience with the platform.
Since the brand guidelines were already set, the design team decided to create templates of the same i.e a template of data table would be designed which will be used in various screens with a different type of data.
These templates will establish the entire look and feel of the platform. They included some very specific details concerning:
